This page describes how to delete an account in the PsyBird.AI app, and what happens to your data when you do.
Delete from inside the app. Open Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm. This works for both patients and therapists, and takes effect immediately.
Or request deletion by email. Write to support@psybird.ai from the email address on your account and ask for your account to be deleted. We act on requests promptly and confirm when done.
What is deleted. Your login is revoked and your account credentials are removed, immediately. For patients, the content you created in the app (your conversations with Psy, journal entries, goals, and exercise responses) is deleted from our active systems. Residual copies age out of our encrypted backups within 30 days.
What is kept, and why. If you received care through a practice, summaries, letters, and notes that your therapist kept as part of your treatment belong to that practice’s clinical record, which your therapist is required to retain under healthcare record-keeping laws. Deleting your app account does not delete your practice’s clinical file, so direct requests about it to your therapist. We also retain minimal billing and audit records where the law requires it.
